Meghan Markle’s acting career may seem like a distant memory by now but before she married Prince Harry the American was best known for playing Rachel Zane in legal drama Suits. However the path to acting success was long and began when Meghan was just a teenager – old photos show her in her first-ever TV appearance at the age of 13.

The Duchess of Sussex worked hard to get to where she is today and took a variety of acting jobs before she landed her star role in Suits.

From working as the model on America’s Deal or No Deal game show to cameo appearances in films including Horrible bosses, the journey to success wasn’t easy.

Meghan is reported to have earned a staggering £37,000 per episode of Suits at the height of her career.

However, she sacrificed her passion for acting when she tied the knot with Prince Harry and now dedicates herself to philanthropic projects instead.

What many don’t know is that long before Suits Meghan was an extra in an episode of “Married with Children.”

The future Duchess was just 13 when she took the role of “Student Sitting on Stage” in the show in 1995.

The episode she appeared in was titled ‘The Undergraduate’ and the scene Meghan appeared in was at a high school prom.

While Meghan is not credited on IMBD for the role or in the show’s credits it was the first step towards stardom.

Meghan landed the role because her dad Thomas Markle was the comedy’s director of photography at the time.

Photos from the scene show the young actress dancing with friends at the prom and sitting on stage between classmates.

She is also snapped in the foreground next to the episode’s main star.

Meghan’s acting career made her a millionaire long before she ever met Prince Harry.

The Mirror reported that Ms Markle a worth a whopping £5 million before she married into the British Royal Family.

Meghan’s career was not the only thing she had to give up when she tied the knot with a British Prince.

The Duchess used to be an avid lifestyle blogger and ran her own site – The Tig.

The Tig became defunct in 2017 before Meghan’s marriage to Prince Harry.

In a moving final statement published on the site, Meghan wrote: “What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity.

“You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy.

“Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being the change you wish to see in the world.”
